Napa Valley Equine

Our Vets

Lindsay Fisher, DVM
Lindsay was born and raised in Napa, Ca. She spent her childhood growing up on a small farm which helped develop her bond with animals, both large and small. At the age of 5, she began riding and took lessons at Wild Horse Valley Ranch. At that same age her love of animals sparked her desire to become a veterinarian. Lindsay went to school in Napa and graduated from Vintage High in 2000. After spending a couple years at the Napa Valley Junior College she finished up her undergraduate degree at UC Davis in 2005. Shortly after, Lindsay was accepted into the veterinary program at UC Davis and graduated in the spring of 2010.
Dr. Fisher has an interest in endurance horse racing and competed in the 2010 World Equestrian Games for the United States Endurance Team. The sport has helped foster her interest in veterinary sports medicine.
In June 2012, Lindsay got married to Erik Fisher and in July 2013 little Hailey Fisher joined the family. Dr. Fisher is currently working with her new horse Fleet to compete in endurance races in California.

Claudia Sonder, DVM
Claudia grew up in Massachusetts as the fourth of five children. She professed to her parents at the age of five that she wanted to be a veterinarian and spent her childhood years riding and caring for horses. She showed hunters and jumpers as a teenager and worked for a large equine show jumping barn. Claudia attended Tufts University as an undergraduate, where she competed regularly in the Intercollegiate Equestrian circuit while enrolled in the pre-med program. Claudia was accepted into UC Davis Veterinary School in 1990 and graduated after completing the equine track in 1995.
In 2013, Dr. Sonder took on the position of the Director of the Center of Equine Health at UC Davis. Her goal in taking this job is to be able to improve horse care and medicine on a larger scale. She looks forward to the couple days each month that she get to work in the field at Napa Valley Equine and see familiar friends and patients.
Dr. Sonder has a special interest in diagnosing and treating lameness in sport horses, utilizing the latest in digital imaging and joint injection procedures. She also enjoys equine neonatal medicine and assisted reproduction. In her "spare" time Claudia enjoys spending time outdoors with her three children Molly, Mason, and Merren.

Vanessa Gant Bradley, DVM
Vanessa grew up in Marin, but enjoyed her first gallop in the vineyards of St. Helena. Before starting veterinary school at UC Davis, she worked in the UC Davis Equine Intensive Care Unit where she first met our own Dr. Lindsay Fisher. Vanessa and Lindsay were classmates in Veterinary School and are very excited to have the opportunity to once again work together! Vanessa did her internship and then fellowship at Peninsula Equine Medical Center in Woodside and in the last year has moved back to the North Bay, joining Artaurus Veterinary Clinic in Petaluma last spring. Vanessa is splitting her week between Artaurus Veterinary Clinic and Napa Valley Equine and she is greatly enjoying both the vineyards and the coast.
Currently, Vanessa is taking a Acupuncture course in Texas to become a certified veterinary acupuncturist.
